Antonio Chaves-Sanjuan

Dr. Antonio Chaves Sanjuan obtained his degree from the University of Seville (Spain) in 2009 and completed his PhD at the Institute of Physical Chemistry (CSIC) in Madrid (Spain) in 2014. His doctoral research focused on the abiotic stress response in plants using macromolecular crystallography (MX).

Following his PhD, he pursued postdoctoral research at the University of Milan, where he specialized in the structural biology of transcription factors. His work included studying NFY in both plants and humans, as well as the human transcription factor NFIX.

In 2021, he was appointed as a Tenure-Track Professor, taking on responsibility for the operations of the cryo-EM facility at the University of Milan.

Since 2023, Dr. Chaves Sanjuan has been leading his own research group, focusing on DNA repair mechanisms.
